Dr. Franca Bernal Alterman and Dr. Diane L. Johnson have owned and operated "Alterman & Johnson Family Chiropractors" since 1994. They are both graduates of Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and have a combined experience of over 58 years.
Dr. Alterman is a native of Colombia, South America, where she lived until finishing high school. In 1979 her family moved to the United States and they have made this country their home since then. She graduated from Life University in 1984 and had practiced alone and in a partnership in Michigan and Florida for 10 years before joining her practice with Dr. Johnson's.
For almost 30 years Dr. Alterman has been practicing family chiropractic in Jacksonville Beach. Several years ago, she became intensely more interested in pre-natal chiropractic and, as a result of that, acquired special training that exclusively teaches the practice of the chiropractic art, science and philosophy as it pertains to the care of pregnant women. She is certified in the only two existing prenatal chiropractic methods: The Webster Technique and The Bagnell Technique. In 2014 'Blooming Bellies - Mommy and Me Chiropractic' was opened to the public; this is an office exclusively for pregnant moms and children and is the second location for Alterman & Johnson Family Chiropractors.
Dr. Alterman conducts seminars for the public and for health professionals who care for pregnant women, to explain the benefits of chiropractic. Please click here to see more. Contact the office should you have any questions or if you'd like to ask Dr. Alterman to speak to your group or organization.
Dr. Johnson graduated from Life University in 1986. She practiced in Georgia following graduation, and then established a solo practice in Jacksonville Beach in 1989, and the Beaches became her home.
Dr. Johnson is passionate about making chiropractic care available to babies and children, and to increase awareness about this viable option for kids. To this end, she conducts talks at birthing centers and other family-centered locations, talking to parents about proper care of a baby's developing spine.
Dr. Johnson also facilitates a monthly gathering of Pathways Connect, an international non-profit organization aimed at empowering parents to make conscious choices and to provide resources and support for the holistic lifestyle. Pathways Connect Beaches meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 11:00 am -12:30 pm and all are welcome.
How do we get children to lie down for an adjustment?
Both Dr. Alterman and Dr. Johnson are proud members of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and Webster Technique Certified
